What is Routine Chiropody?
Routine Chiropody is a term for the general maintenance of your foot health. This may include the trimming of toenails, callus debridement and general advice. Each patient is advised to attend on a regular basis for a routine chiropody appointment and this is usually every 6 – 8 weeks.
What should I bring to the Chiropody appointment?
Just yourself! We have all the equipment and state of the art technology in order to treat you.
What will happen during my Chiropody appointment?
A routine treatment usually lasts about 30 minutes. A typical treatment will begin with some questions from the chiropodist / podiatrist about your general health and any medication you are taking. Common treatments in a routine session would be nail cutting, nail reduction, ingrown toenail management, corn enucleation, and callus debridement.
Our Podiatrists will work closely with you, helping you to achieve the outcome you want from your treatment. You will be involved at every stage of your treatment.
What will happen after my Chiropody appointment?
After your appointment you may continue with your activities as normal unless specified by the Podiatrist. The Podiatrist may wish to see you again if you have had a dressing or if you need any further treatment for verrucae. He may also advise that you attend the clinic on a regular basis for routine chiropody.
