The team at Davenport House Clinic were proud to welcome the Right to Dream Academy from Ghana to the clinic recently. The talented squad were in Manchester to participate in the Manchester United Premier Cup at Old Trafford.

Eight members of the team, along with the teams Physiotherapist Richard Evans, were invited to Davenport House Clinic to try out our brand new, state of the art ProGait suite. ProGait features an orthopaedic treadmill, high shutter speed cameras and force plates for Full Body 4-sided Motion Gait Analysis. All eight boys were able to have a full gait analysis and were given the advice and treatment that they required. Several were able to take away their own custom-made orthotics to alleviate the problems identified.

Our Podiatrist and Clinical Director Tony Gavin trained alongside the team’s Physiotherapist Richard at Huddersfield University and we were delighted to offer our services free of charge. Davenport House Clinic gave over £2000 worth of analysis and treatments to the team.

Right to Dream is an outstanding charity set up by Mr. Tom Vernon, a social impact entrepreneur, in 1999. The Right to Dream Academy in Ghana is a non-profit making, fully residential international school which offers five year scholarships to children aged 11 and above. This year the Right to Dream Academy signed a three-year partnership agreement with Vodafone Ghana, enabling Right to Dream to continue to deliver world class coaching and a specialised programme of personal development, education and leadership skills to some of the brightest but underprivileged young children in Ghana.
